How The Functional Medicine Checkup Works:
Initial Session with Dr. Ryan Wagner
You will have a personalized, 30-minute initial virtual consultation session with Dr. Ryan. In this dedicated session, you will discuss your current health goals and express any specific health concerns you may have. Dr. Ryan will get to know you and order a comprehensive set of labs to reveal insights into your health. These may include blood, urine, or stool tests, as well as specialized tests for food sensitivities, hormone imbalances, and more.
Receive Your Test Kits
Once the necessary tests are ordered, you will receive your lab kits directly in the mail. Most of these tests can be completed from the comfort of your own home at your convenience. For tests that require blood samples, we provide the option of a mobile phlebotomist.
Please note that the cost of the lab tests is NOT included in the Functional Medicine Checkup and will be an additional expense.
Review Your Results
Once your lab results are finalized, you will have a dedicated virtual 60-minute session with Dr. Ryan to discuss your findings in detail. This session is an opportunity to understand your body’s unique health profile and the root causes of your health concerns. Dr. Ryan will explain your results in detail, answering any questions you might have. He will provide a clear path forward, outlining simple, actionable steps tailored to your unique health needs and goals, paving the way towards your journey to optimal health and vitality.

The initial session is our chance to get to know you and understand your health goals. Dr. Ryan will review your medical history, discuss any specific concerns you may have, and order a comprehensive set of labs to gain insights into your body’s functioning. This session is all about gathering important information and setting the foundation for personalized treatment plans that address your unique needs.
We make it easy for you to receive your labs by providing lab kits that can be completed from the comfort of your own home. For tests that require blood samples, we also offer the option of a mobile phlebotomist who can come to you. Once your results are finalized, you will have a dedicated session with Dr. Ryan to review them in detail and discuss next steps towards optimal health.
Based on the initial consultation and your specific needs, Dr. Ryan will order a comprehensive set of labs to gain a deep understanding of your body’s functioning. These may include blood, urine, or stool tests, as well as specialized tests for food sensitivities, hormone imbalances, and more
Our individualized care means we take into consideration your needs, preferences, and budget. The cost of laboratory tests recommended during the initial session can range from $300 to $500 for each kit. We also offer flexibility by staggering the tests over time for affordability. This cost does depend on the complexity of your condition and the level of diagnostics required. Some FSA/HSA may cover the lab costs.
The cost of supplements that are prescribed as part of your treatment plan can be customized based on budgetary constraints. This cost depends on the protocol(s) recommended to treat your condition and the length of treatment. Supplement costs vary considerably depending on the patient and treatment plan, but average $150–$350/month. Some FSA/HSA may cover the supplement costs.
Due to the nature of these services, please note that all sales for Functional Medicine Checkups are final. Once a checkup is purchased, we cannot issue a refund.
Similarly, the sales for all laboratory tests are final. As these tests are custom-ordered to suit your health needs, we are unable to accept returns or provide refunds once the lab kit has been dispatched. We appreciate your understanding and are committed to providing you with the highest quality of healthcare service.
