A CGM provides the richest data and the most meaningful experiment results — but a glucometer works as a backup for all six experiments. After enrollment, your welcome materials include specific recommendations for both options, instructions for checking insurance coverage, and FSA/HSA eligibility information. Everything arrives in time for you to have your monitoring tool ready before Week 2.
No. The program includes a symptom-based tier assessment that works without labs. If you do have recent fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, or HbA1c results, even better — you’ll be able to place yourself on the tier map immediately. Week 2 of the program explains which labs to order and how to get them if you want them going forward.
Yes — and this program was specifically designed for that person. Fasting glucose and HbA1c are the least sensitive markers for blood sugar dysfunction. This program is not appropriate for people currently using insulin or managing active diabetic hypoglycemia without physician supervision.
