1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp black strap molasses
1 Tbsp arrowroot powder
*optional garnish – coconut whip cream, chocolate shavings, dash of cinnamon or cinnamon stick
How to Prepare
Pour 1 cup of the oat milk into a small saucepan. Add the rest of the ingredients except the arrowroot powder. Bring to a rapid simmer over medium heat, whisking occasionally.
Meanwhile, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup of milk with the arrowroot powder in a bowl until there are no clumps.
Once the hot chocolate is at a rapid simmer, pour in the arrowroot slurry. Whisk constantly until the mixture thickens, about 45 seconds.
Remove from heat and serve warm garnished as desired.
