6 Ways To Eat Cilantro

Cilantro

Cilantro, also known as coriander in some regions, comes from the same plant family as carrots, celery, and parsley. In the US, we refer to the leaves of the plant as cilantro, and the seeds as coriander. If you’re wondering how to eat cilantro and incorporate it into your daily meals, you’re in the right place!

🌿 So, let’s talk about the leaves.
You may have heard that cilantro leaves support detoxification by binding to and eliminating heavy metals from the body. While this may be true, the evidence is not definitive. We can certainly include cilantro in cleansing diets but not rely on it to eliminate heavy metals on its own.

Like all green leafy foods, cilantro is a source of vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, potassium, and beta-carotene. These nutrients make it a powerhouse to support health! Additionally, cilantro is rich in antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, benefiting heart health and supporting the immune system.
